The Lagos State Scholarship Board emerged in 1968 due to the Lagos State Government’s desire to provide education to its indigenes.
It is concerned with providing scholarship schemes, bursaries, advisory and policy formation concerning scholarships in the state and providing other educational compensation plans to matters in the state.

There are several scholarship schemes put together by the Lagos state scholarship board into other to promote and assist the education of inspiring Lagosian youth and give them a better chance of having tertiary education.
The scholarship program is awarded on two levels; one for the primary and secondary students and another for tertiary students with a good CGPA of 3.5 and above. - 80,000 NGN for secondary student

- 200,000 NGN for Universities and Polytechnic students.

Eligibility and Requirement for the Scholarship in Lagos State 2023
One should have the following in other to become eligible for the Lagos state scholarship.
- Must be a bonafide student
- Must be an indigene of Lagos state
- Must have an excellent academic record. A CGPA of 3.5 and above for undergraduates and 2.1 for postgraduates.
- Have a duly signed scholarship application form obtained at the state secretariat.
- State of Origin certificate, Result of previous sessions in school, a letter from the Oba, etc to satisfy your claims
- Must pass the Lagos State Board exams.

The application form costs a nonrefundable fee of 2000 NGN.
