ABSU Academic calendar provides all the necessary information for the academic session including when the University is resuming for the first and second semesters. The final decision on the date for ABSU resumption normally comes from the School Management/Senate.
The resumption is to start academic activities after a break or holidays. Abia State University students are required to return to the school and participate effectively in all academic activities in their various departments and faculties.
When Will ABSU Resume for 2025/2026
According to a statement signed by the Registrar, Dr. Acho Elendu, as the result of the 284th Regular Meeting of the school Senate held on Tuesday, 18th November 2025, the 2025/2026 Academic session is scheduled to commence on Monday, 1st December 2025.
If you still postponing your schedule, make the necessary preparation. Students are expected to resume on time, pay fees, register courses and submit the necessary files.

Preparing for the semester (First or Second) before and after the commencement of the academic year is very important. The following will aid your progress and academic performance:
- Update Your Biodata: Your Biodata may need update especially for a new academic session for retuning students while the new students may have to fill their Online Biodata form.
- Payment of School Fees: One of the important things to be done in Abia State University immediately after resumption for a new semester is to pay school fees. New students may have to pay their acceptance fee first before the school fees.
- Registration of Courses: Students should take the online course registration very serious immediately after paying fees.
