FUGUS Examination Dates and Semester Breaks
The two main examination periods are:
- First semester: 14 December 2026–9 January 2027.
- Second semester: 3–22 May 2027.
The first-semester break is scheduled for 11–24 January 2027, while the end-of-session break and result-processing period is reported as 24 May–1 August 2027.
Students should check their faculty, department and official university notices for examination timetables because the academic calendar provides the examination period, not necessarily individual course examination dates.
How to Check the Official FUGUS Academic Calendar
Students should verify academic-calendar information through Federal University Gusau’s official communication channels, particularly the university website, student portal and official notices.
The FUGUS undergraduate portal currently provides 2026/2027 fresh-student guidelines and admission-related services. The university’s online-services platform also identifies itself as an official Federal University Gusau service and provides links to university services.
Students should not rely solely on screenshots, social-media posts or third-party blogs when a date affects registration, examinations or other important academic obligations.
What Students Should Know About Calendar Changes
Academic calendars can be revised by university management. Therefore, the dates above should be treated as the published 2026/2027 schedule, while subsequent official FUGUS notices take precedence if changes are announced.
This is particularly important for examination dates, registration deadlines and resumption dates. Students should check for later circulars before making travel or other arrangements.
