The Gombe State Univeristy (GSU) approved Academic and administrative calendar provides details on Matriculation of Fresh Student, Registration of courses for all students, Revision, semester examinations etc. Parents, Students and members of the general public are expected to follow the activities on the Gombe State Univeristy academic calendar accordingly.

Gombe State Univeristy First Semester Academic Activities

The Gombe State Univeristy (GSU) approved academic calendar for first semester begin on Monday, 2nd February, 2026 and concludes on Saturday, 8th August, 2026, check the schedule below:

  • Monday, 2nd February, 2026 – Saturday, 14th February, 2026: Registration portal open for fresh/returning students
  • Monday, 16th February, 2026 – Saturday, 28th February, 2026: Students’ arrival on campus
  • Monday, 2nd March, 2026 – Saturday, 14th March, 2026: 2 weeks lectures
  • Monday, 16th March, 2026 – Saturday, 22nd March, 2026: 1 week students’ break
  • Monday, 23rd March, 2026 – Saturday, 6th June, 2026: 11 weeks lectures
  • Monday, 8th June, 2026 – Saturday, 27th June, 2026: 3 weeks examinations
  • Monday, 29th June, 2026 – Saturday, 4th July, 2026: 1 week students’ break
  • Monday, 29th July, 2026 – Saturday, 18th July, 2026: 3 weeks marking/results compilation
  • Monday, 20th July, 2026 – Saturday, 1st August, 2026: 2 weeks departmental/faculty board
  • Monday, 3rd August, 2026 – Saturday, 8th August, 2026: 1 week Senate Business Committee

Gombe State Univeristy Second Semester Academic Activities

The academic and administrative activities ranging from Sunday, 5th July, 2026 to Saturday, 12th December, 2026 are as follows for all GSU students:

  • Sunday, 5th July, 2026: Students’ resumption on campus
  • Monday, 6th July, 2026 – Saturday, 29th August, 2026: 8 weeks lectures
  • Monday, 31st August, 2026 – Saturday, 5th September, 2026: 1 week students’ break
  • Monday, 7th July, 2026 – Saturday, 10th September, 2026: 5 weeks lectures
  • Monday, 12th October, 2026 – Saturday, 31st October, 2026: 3 weeks examinations
  • Monday, 2nd November, 2026 – Saturday, 21st November, 2026: 3 weeks marking/results compilation
  • Monday, 23rd November, 2026 – Saturday, 5th December, 2026: 2 weeks departmental/faculty board
  • Monday, 7th December, 2026 – Saturday, 12th December, 2026: 1 week Senate Business Committee
  • Monday, 14th December, 2026 – 5th December, 2026: End of session break/leave

Note: All public holidays will be observed as announced; students should Keep an eye on official notices tied to each holiday date

Final Note

All students are expected to complete registration, payment of school and online course registration within the stipulated period by the school management.

The Gombe State Univeristy Academic calendar provide details on academic and other activities for first and second semester 2025/2026 academic session starts from Monday, 2nd February, 2026 to Saturday, 12th December, 2026. The 2026/2027 academic session will commence on December, 2026.
