FUTO postgraduate admission requirements
The postgraduate admission requirements for FUTO vary depending on the programme and the department. However, the following are the general entry requirements for FUTO’s postgraduate programmes:
- All candidates must have credit passes at O’level including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry for all courses in Engineering. For other courses, candidates must possess five credits including English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science and two other relevant subjects at O’level.
- For Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) programmes, candidates must meet matriculation requirements and hold a HND with credit or above in relevant areas, or a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline from FUTO or any other recognized university with at least a third class honours, or a good Bachelor’s degree with at least second class honours in other related disciplines.
- For Master’s programmes, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree with at least a Second Class Honours (Lower Division) qualification in the related area from FUTO or from any other recognized university, or a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university plus a PGD of not less than 2.50 CGPA on a 5-point scale and a 2.50 CGPA on a 4-point scale in the relevant area.
- For Doctorate programmes, candidates must possess a Master’s degree in the appropriate discipline with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5-point scale and 3.00 on a 4-point scale from FUTO or any other recognized university.
FUTO postgraduate school fees
The postgraduate school fees for FUTO depend on the programme and the mode of study. According to the FUTO website, the postgraduate school fees for the 2022/2023 academic session are as follows:
- PGD (Full-time) – N71,500
- M.Sc (Full-time) – N106,500
- MBA (Full-time) – N121,500
- MPH (Full-time) – N121,500
- PhD (Full-time) – N106,500
- M.Sc (Part-time) – N113,500
- MBA (Part-time) – N167,500
- MPH (Part-time) – N167,500
- PhD (Part-time) – N113,500
These fees are paid per semester and cover tuition, course registration, health insurance, ID cards, laboratory and library fees, etc. You can also print your postgraduate school fees receipt on the FUTO website.
How to apply for FUTO postgraduate studies
To apply for FUTO postgraduate studies, you need to follow these steps:
- Go to the FUTO website
- Click on Prospective Students.
- Click on Postgraduate Application.
- Enter your valid email address.
- Click on Submit.
- An Application Number will be generated and sent to your email address.
- Go to the application page again and enter your email address and Application Number.
- Proceed to make payment of N11,300.00 only through the Remita Gateway using any of the Deposit Money Banks (DMB) or online payment options.
- Return to the application page and enter your email address and Application Number again.
- Fill the online application form carefully and correctly.
- Upload scanned copies of the following documents: First Degree Certificate or Statement of Result, NYSC Discharge Certificate or Letter of Exemption, O’Level Result, Certificate of Birth, Local Government Identification Letter, Reference Letter from a reputable person in the society, Passport-sized Photographs (coloured with white background).
- Submit the online application form and print out a copy of the Acknowledgement Slip.
